Answers
What is the typical workflow?
- Upload one or more images (screenshots, wireframes,…) from your
computer or online collection (such as flickr) - Annotate screen-elements on each image by drawing a box around the
element and adding one or more elements from the element library to
it. - Indicate whether or not the element is site wide (identical on all
pages in the site). - Consult the page specific checklist, generated based on the annotated
elements in the previous step. Access more detailed info on each
requirement by clicking on it. - Fill out the page specific checklist and see where you need to work
on. - Check-out the overview score for all pages in your project via the
project level checklist. And fill-out the requirements on a higher
(project) level. - Share the results and gathered requirements with others by sending a
link to the results.
How can I upload screenshots?
You can upload images from your computer and from an online collection
by entering the url to the image.

Can I share my report with others?
Yes, you can use the link generated on the “results-page” to give
others access to your results.
Can I export my data?
In the current version of the software it is not possible to export
the results. Reporting will be one of the first new features will be
developing.
What does my usability score mean?
The score expresses the level of conformance with the guidelines that
are applicable for your website. Since web design and creating a good
user experience always involves making compromises, we consider a
score of 80% as good.
Where do these guidelines come from?
The main sources for the guidelines are:
*”The Research-Based Web Design & Usability Guidelines” available from
www.usability.gov
*The ISO standard “9241-151:2008 Ergonomics of human-system
interaction – Part 151: Guidance on World Wide Web user interfaces”
These guidelines were completed and cross-checked with academic
research and international recognized resources such as publications
by Jakob Nielsen (www.useit.com, www.nngroup.com)
Can I add guidelines?
Currently it is not possible to ad your own guidelines. If you feel
that guidelines are missing from the set please contact us
(info@userplus.org) and let us know what you are missing.
Can I add examples to the existing design patterns and best practices?
Yes, if you have good examples that can enhance the existing content
you can always send them to us via info@userplus.org.
I’ve found a bug/error in the service, where can I contact you?
You can contact us via the contact-form on the contact page or send us
an e-mail via info@userplus.org
Who has access to the files I upload?
Only you have complete access to your account. People who access the
“share your result link” you send them, will only be able to view the
results on that page and will have access to the public parts of the
UserPlus website.
